Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

ShortCake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 4 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 tablespoons organic butter
  • 3/4 cup half and half
  • Melted butter to brush shortcakes

Directions

Heat oven 450 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in butter. Mix in half-and-half. Drop by large spoonfuls onto a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 15 minutes or until brown. Cool


Strawberry Topping

Ingredients

1lb of Strawberrys

Sugar

Directions

Cut strawberriesup and place into a bowl. Sprinkle sugar over strawberries and refrigerate for a month.


Whipped Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whip cream until stiff peaks are just about to form. Beat in vanilla and sugar until peaks form. Make sure not to over-beat, cream will then become lumpy and butter-like.
